My Updates

🏃‍♂️ A Wobbly Start, But We’re Off!

Monday 12th May

If this blog had sound effects, it would have started with a sneeze.

Because while others kicked off May with running shoes and hydration apps, I kicked it off horizontal — flu-ridden, wrapped in a blanket, and considering a brisk walk to the fridge as my cardio. But we bounce back, don't we?

So, here we are — nearly halfway through the month, and finally hitting our stride. Quite literally.

As you can see from my Activity Tracker, it’s been a journey:

May 2nd to 5th: Modest beginnings. Think “Bambi on ice” but less graceful. Managed to a good 6 miles from Wadebridge to Padstow on the beautiful Camel Trail accompanied by 4 legged friend.

May 8th onward: I started stacking up those kilometres like they were loyalty points at a coffee shop. Went for a 10 miler around the South West Coastal path around Rock, Polzeath and The Rumps a couple of days ago – calves still shouting at me!

The steps got longer, the legs stopped arguing, and I’m now proudly sitting at 55kms of the 100km goal.

I’m doing this to raise funds and awareness for some great causes. Every step is a reminder that even slow starts still count — especially when you're heading in the right direction. Plus, if I can go from coughing to covering kilometres in a matter of days, you can probably skip the elevator once this week. (Just saying.)

I'll be keeping this blog updated with my progress, sore calves, questionable route choices, and hopefully, a few more laughs.

Thanks for following along — and if you’ve donated, cheered me on, or shared the cause, you are the wind beneath my orthotic insoles!

Let’s keep Moving Through May. We’re just getting started.
