My Updates

Day 18 - 100KM Done!

Monday 19th May
100km Done! Supporting Moving Through May has given me incentive to explore new trails on my Lincolnshire doorstep. I drive through the Lincolnshire wolds all the time, but rarely do I take time to linger here.
So, with my walking companion in tow, we explored another new route and it did not disappoint! Fantastic scenery, world put to rights, surprise encounters with old friends, immersed in nature, what a way to hit 100kms. I won’t stop there, every step taken, every pound raised helps put food on the table for families in need. If you can help please check out link below. If you can’t check out this clip of the highest point of our walk today and if you get chance, come check out the Lincolnshire Countryside it won’t disappoint.

Day 16 - Do I increase my target further??????????

Friday 16th May
It's been a long week and a challenge to get those steps in and keep the distance up, but somehow I've snuck it in!   Team walks at lunch time and early morning dog walks have helped. After today should hit 89km just over 10km to hit my 100km target - I'm pretty sure I'll be able to hit that this weekend.  Watch this space.  Big question is, with two weeks to do, do I push in another 50km?  What do you reckon???

Day 11 - 50km Target Smashed

Monday 12th May
This weekend I smashed my 50km target!  When I started this journey, 50km seemed like a big distance to achieve, but with the incentive of raising money for the Trussell Trust and my sponsors (massive thank you!), hit that distance.  So what next?  Challenge set for 100km!

Day 7 - Just Getting Going!

Wednesday 7th May
What a start the team has made - some absolutely fantastic efforts.  Met with a few of our local team on BH Monday to visit the North Sea Observatory - a scheme design we delivered.  Starting at Anderby Creek it was  bright but very windy and a bit chilly!?  We stopped for a cuppa at the North Sea Obesrvatory and then decided to do the circular route and come inland to circle back to Anderby, out of the wind.  Now I've lived on this coast for most of my life and had never done this, so we got to see the old Pill Box and the SSI Nature reserve.  Nearly 10K done that day, lots of fresh air and maybe a little sunburnt/windburnt - will remember the sunscreen and hat next time!

Day 1 - Mission Commenced!

Thursday 1st May
Started the 1st of May with an early morning stroll with Arlo, 5.49km done!  Even saw the season's first swallow!

Preparing for Moving Through May

Monday 28th Apr
I've been stuck, struggling to get motivated to push my exercise routine.  I've slipped into a work work work routine, squeezing in family time and letting that time to breathe and focus on my own fitness and wellbeing go.  So time to reset and with some accountability in raising some money for some awesome charities it's time to reset with a commitment to Moving Though May.

A little apprehensive about what I could fit in, I've done a couple of practice runs.  Get up 15mins earlier, Practice using the Map My Fitness App and remind myself I don't have to start work at 7am and get some fresh air and exercise in!

I may just be able to hit my target- Arlo certainly thinks so and 5.52km done!

Thank you to my Sponsors
