My Updates

Moving in and by the Med.

Sunday 31st May
Well it was perhaps a little hot, but otherwise, there really is no excuse for not exercising when you are by the Mediterranean sea, and so I walked on the beach and in the sea, I swam in the warm waters, and canoed the river Orb which flows into the Med - all for a good cause of course! Strava was not always working, but even Strava acknowledged I hit the 100K target! :-)

Monastery in Munich

Tuesday 19th May
So I spent a long weekend just outside Munich in a beautifully refurbished monastery - it was a chance to relax with friends, enjoy their company, pray together and meet inspirational people ~ and run / walk in a rural setting.  I haven't added many kilometres, but I did add a few. Please consider supporting our team effort to fundraise for some worthy charities. Thank you.

From Saltlands to Combwich - along the River Parrett

Sunday 10th May
Saturday was a great day to run, for several reasons! Firstly, it was sunny - I prefer warm and dry, but it did get a bit too hot. The route had been mapped by a Kier colleague for another day, so I thought I'd do a recce - and I'm so glad I did.  We'd estimated a 5-6 mile walk, turns out it's nearer to 7! Possibly thanks to our diversion, so can't blame the mapping tool. ;-) Best of all, there was an ultra (50 or 100K)  trail run happening that I had not known about, which meant I had company on my run - which I love! So after many photos and brief chats, I managed my 14 miles, and waved on those brave souls taking on a longer course.  I also got to see parts of the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier site I'd previously only seen on maps - a great morning even if I was pretty tired by the end.
