125km In Now, Halfway Through!

Date: 14/05/2025

Yesterday, I had the privilege of participating in a baton-moving leg, walking 4.8 miles from Gosport to Fareham with colleagues from the London and South area. The leg was divided into three parts, and due to work commitments, I could only walk the first part. However, props to the rest of the team who completed the full 14 miles!

As a group, we have now covered an incredible 95,690km and raised a staggering £130,301.00, far surpassing our initial target of £100,000. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.

Silver and I are doing our bit, and while I don't like to ask, if you could sponsor me with anything you can, it would go towards our fantastic charities and truly make a difference. Every contribution counts and helps us support those in need.

Thank you for your support! Let's keep pushing forward and make an even bigger impact together. 💪

Week One: A Strong Start!

Friday 9th May
What a fantastic first week! Silver and I have been getting out for two walks a day, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the scenic beauty of Hiltingbury Lakes—just a five-minute stroll from home. With the weather on our side, it's been the perfect setting for this challenge.

I want to extend a huge thank you to my incredible sponsors for your generosity. My original fundraising target was £50, but thanks to your amazing support, we've already smashed that—raising £95 so far! Your kindness truly makes a difference.

Beyond my own journey, the entire Moving Through May group has achieved something remarkable. Collectively, we've covered a staggering 43,783 km and raised an unbelievable £98,263 in just the first week. What an effort! Huge congratulations to everyone involved—you’re making a real impact.

For now, it’s onward to week two. I’ll check in again soon with another update—until then, keep moving, keep supporting, and keep making a difference!

Moving Through May: My 250km Adventure with Silver for a Great Cause! 🚶‍♂️🐾🌸

Wednesday 30th Apr

Hi everyone,

This May, I’m lacing up my walking shoes and embarking on a journey that’s sure to give MyFitnessPal a run for its money! I’m participating in Moving Through May, a fantastic fundraising initiative by the Kier Foundation. As part of Kier Transportation, I’m joining forces with colleagues across the group to raise a whopping £100,000 for three incredible charities: Breast Cancer Now, Prostate Cancer UK, and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Now, here’s the fun part: I’ve pledged to walk 250km throughout the month. Yes, you read that right—250km! That’s like walking from Winchester to London and back, with a few detours for coffee breaks. And I won’t be doing it alone—most of my walking will be with my trusty 2.5-year-old American Bully, Silver. She's as excited as I am (though she might be more interested in the squirrels along the way).

My goal is to raise at least £50—though, let’s be honest, smashing that target would be absolutely brilliant! So, if you’d like to see me transform into a walking machine and support these worthy causes, please follow the link to my Moving Through May Homepage. Every little bit helps, and your support means the world to me (and my soon-to-be very tired feet).

Thank you for your support and let’s make this May one to remember!
