Aimee completed the 2022 Great North Run with a new half marathon PB of 1:53:05, raising funds for the Samaritans.
Aimee said: "I just wanted to say that my total to date is £350 plus the match funding from Kier will take it to £550 for the Samaritans which is absolutely fantastic and I’m over the moon with the total 😊
The race was amazing, I absolutely loved it! The North East Crowd shouting my name along the way was brilliant and kept my spirits high whilst I dined out on orange slices and jelly babies from the generous crowd. I managed to do a new Half Marathon PB which is 1:53:05, which I was incredibly happy with as I was content just getting sub 2 hours and I felt really good at that pace. After the race I visited the Samaritans marquee in the charity village and enjoyed some salty crisps and even a glass of prosecco and really enjoyed a good chat with other Samaritan runners. The vibe with the other runners from the Samaritans was infectious and I’m really pleased I took the time to thank them as well for their support. It was an amazing day and the Samaritans also wanted me to pass on my thanks to Kier for their generous match funding as they said this some of the best match funding they have heard of!"
