A transformation for Trust Links

24 Aug 2022

Business match funding success for Ian Addis, Senior Site Manager, Kier Construction Eastern and Trust Links, Thundersley

The requirements

As you can see from the images above, a refurb was required! The building had unfortunately been stripped almost bare and left damaged over time. Ian personally volunteers regularly for Trust Links, helping out with various trips and activities that the group carries out, and knew how much of a difference this transformation would make.

The refurb involved

  • installing a new kitchen
  • two 2 new WC's
  • approx. 80 square meters of carpet and decoration works to the main walls.
  • approx. 150m of wall to decorate (basically 4 walls of the unit)
  • some removal of wall damaged by damp ingress

Support provided by the business and supply chain:

8 members of staff to install the kitchen and help with all the works where possible, equating to approx 40 hours.

Supply chain:

  • Spiers supplied all the paint
  • Kitchens provided by an independent supplier
  • Drylining works completed by a new company
  • Titan Flooring carried out the supply and install of the carpets
  • Cube systems contributed 60% of the cost for cubicles

Business match funding from the Kier Foundation

     £3,500

Beckie Grout, Partnerships Manager, Trust Links said "We had the privilege of opening the new space last week and are so incredibly proud of the hard work that has done into making it possible. We would not have even dreamt of starting this without the support of Kier, and we are truly thankful to your whole organisation. We are a mental health charity and the referral rates through our wellbeing team alone have increased by 250% over the last couple of years, so the need for our support is huge. This safe welcoming space means we can do more groups and events, and bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to grow, learn and connect. It is much more than a room!"
