Kier Foundation Winners' Club Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Kier Foundation Winners’ Club?
The Kier Foundation Winners’ Club is an employee-only lottery that gives the chance to win a tax-free cash prize each month. All proceeds from the Winners' Club are split 50/50 between the prize money and the Kier Foundation. It's vital to replenishing the Kier Foundation funds, so we can continue to have a positive impact on society, supporting the causes Kier employees hold dear and shape the communities in which we work.
Who can enter the Winners’ Club?
Participation in the Winners’ Club is open to all permanent employees on the Kier Group GB payroll system over the age of eighteen (18), provided the deductions do not take their salary under the minimum wage.
What does it cost to enter the Winners’ Club?
Entry to the Winners’ Club monthly draw costs £1 per week.
By signing up, you will be authorising Kier Group GB payroll to deduct the equivalent of £1 a week after-tax salary for the duration of your participation in the Winners’ Club.
The salary deductions will be made as follows:
- Weekly paid staff: £1 deduction from each weekly wage
- Monthly paid staff: £4 or £5 deduction depending on whether there are 4 or 5 Thursdays in a calendar month.
Can I Gift Aid my lottery payments?
No, unfortunately, we can’t claim Gift Aid on lottery payments.
What can I win?
The maximum amount one employee can receive in prize money in any one (1) draw is £5,000. Therefore:
- If the employee prize fund is up to and including £5,000 in any month one (1) draw will be held.
- If the employee prize fund exceeds £5,000 but is up to and including £9,000 in any month, there will be two (2) draws held:
-
- the winner of the first draw will receive £5,000; and
- the winner of the second draw will receive the remaining balance of the employee prize fund up to a maximum of £4,000.
-
- the winner of the first draw will receive £5,000; and
- the winner of the second draw and the winner of the third draw will split the remaining balance of the employee prize fund equally up to a maximum of £4,000 each.

How do I know the lottery is fair and legal?
The Kier Foundation holds a small society lottery licence with Northamptonshire local authority and legally must submit all draw results.
Every entry to the Winners’ Club has an equal chance of winning. The winning numbers are drawn using a random number generator in the presence of two witnesses - one Kier Foundation trustee and one member of the Kier Group Legal team.

What are the rules for the Kier Foundation Winners’ Club?
You can find the full rules here Kier Foundation Winners’ Club Terms and Conditions
How will I know if I’ve won?
The draw will take place on the first business day of each calendar month. The winner of each draw will be notified by phone promptly after the draw has taken place.
Unless a participant specifies that (s)he does not want to be named as a winner, the identity of each winner and the amount won will be publicised across Kier Group.
There will be no “rollover” draw under any circumstances. If, for whatever reason, a draw is not held on the first working day of any calendar month, the draw will take place at the earliest opportunity thereafter.
Prize winnings will be paid, tax-free, with salary payments via Kier Group GB payroll.
Do I need to know my Winners’ Club number to claim a prize?
No, you do not need to know your Winners’ Club number to claim a prize. We have a record of all ticket numbers and if you were to win you would be contacted by phone promptly after the draw has taken place, so don’t worry if you can’t remember what your number is. You can always contact us at info@thekierfoundation.org if you have lost your Winners’ Club number and need a reminder.
